The role

My client is an Australian owned business, and they have enjoyed growth and prosperity in the last 30 years. Leader in serving the needs of major shippers that have central warehousing and express road freight requirements, in a cost effective and reliable distribution method, this independent Australian-owned transport and Logistics Company offers solutions on a truly national basis.

After developing a combination of company facilities and regional agency networks and due to their expansion, my client is currently looking for a driven and experienced Business Development Manager that can help the business growth and further expand their already established client’s base.

Responsibility

In this exciting position, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a solid working relationship with key accounts across the business
  • Working proactively to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  • Building, long lasting relationships with existing customers and prospecting new business
  • Preparing sales quotations and follow up
  • Sales negotiations which help sustain revenue margins

You:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication skills and proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong business acumen
  • Break-bulk or express delivery services exposure highly regarded
  • Experience managing account raging from $200,000 to 2 millions
  • Business-driven and hunter mentality
  • Experience within road and rail freight would be highly regarded, although not necessary
  • A genuine passion for sales
  • A full/clean driver’s license

Benefits

In return, my client will offer:

  • A salary base of $80,000 -$95,000 depending on experience + Super + phone + laptop
  • Bonuses up to $30,000 - uncapped
  • Fully maintained company vehicle or car allowance
  • Industry recognized training
