About the Role
As the Business Development Manager based out of Melbourne you will be responsible for managing existing relationships whilst developing new business. You will need to be experienced in cold calling and lead generation and have a confident yet professional approach to turning leads into sales. As the sole person in Victoria you must be willing to work autonomously and self manage your diary and appointments. This position will involve travel each quarter to WA and QLD where you will also be responsible for developing new and existing business.
  
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the relationship with the existing client network
  • Develop opportunities for new business via cold calling and lead generation
  • Attend trade events to develop brand awareness and manage relationships with key associations.
  • Develop sales and marketing initiatives and drive sales to new potential markets
  • Conduct product demonstrations.
  • Complete monthly review of all accounts and performance
  • Develop action plans to improve performance
  • Preparation of reports, analysis and plans

To be successful for this role you must have the following:
  • Minimum 5 years Sales experience developing new business
  • Exposure to building or plumbing industry an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise and self manage
  • Solid track record of closing sales
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to network and represent at industry events
  • Be willing to travel to WA and QLD for a week in each state every quarter
  • Strong computer skills particularly in word and excel
  • A flexible manner and strong ‘can do’ attitude
  • A practical approach to problem solving
