Carlton Football Club is looking for an innovative, tenacious and motivated individual with exceptional sales experience to join the Corporate Sales team at Ikon Park.

The Corporate Sales Executive is responsible for managing a range of corporate products and driving revenue in order to achieve challenging sales targets.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Corporate Sales and wider Commercial team in identifying revenue opportunities, converting leads and providing support across all commercial revenue streams.

The Corporate Sales Executive will be relentless in their pursuit of sales targets, demonstrate an exceptional level of customer centricity and will generate strong relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have at a minimum of two years’ experience in a corporate sales role within the AFL or sports industry, a demonstrated ability to generate and convert business leads as well as proven commercial acumen and influencing skills.  

The position is based at Ikon Park in Carlton North and will be offered on a full-time and ongoing basis.

The key responsibilities for this role are, but not limited to:

Sales / New Business Development

  • Achieve individual and overall product sales targets – specifically (but not limited to) Carlton Football Club match day products, corporate suits, corporate groups, major events and other fundraising initiatives
  • Grow revenue across specified corporate products via new business
  • Acquire new targeted corporate accounts in line with sales budget
  • Identify new business opportunities via industry and market research and successfully establish client portfolio via referrals and new business
  • Build effective relationships and rapport with prospective clients and develop and understanding of their objectives to provide tailored solutions
  • End to end management of specified corporate products – budgeting, planning, execution, communications, forecasting and working with key stakeholders

Account Management

  • Proactively manage new and existing clients to ensure retention and growth year on year
  • Manage regular contact with portfolio of clients to ensure service levels are of the highest standard
  • Demonstrate strong relationship management and communication skills to ensure client needs are exceeded
  • Identify and convert opportunities to leverage existing clients to achieve increased revenue

Administration

  • Generate and present accurate and high-quality sales reports and business proposals
  • Uphold stringent data management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) processes
  • Regular review of sale targets, performance and forecasts
  • Provide outstanding customer service to a portfolio of clients via regular interaction and review

Selection criteria

Candidates will need to address the following competencies and experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a corporate sales role preferably within the AFL or sports industry
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and convert business leads and proven ability to achieve challenging sales targets
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen as well as influencing and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders and a record of developing and maintaining productive and profitable relationships
  • Exceptional communication, organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing environments
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience in working with CRM systems and ability to gather and interpret information for reporting purposes.
  • An established corporate network of clients would be highly advantageous
