West Australian Newspapers has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated Sales Support Merchandisers, who are passionate about retail to join our Circulation Field Sales Team. The Sales Support Merchandisers will be permanent part-time positions, working 25 hours per week over a Thursday to Sunday roster.

Based in Perth and reporting to the Retail Sales Manager this role is focussed on optimising the distribution and sales of the company’s newspapers, magazines, books and promotional products.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

• Managing various retail channels within a designated sales territory
• Improving the ranging and retail presence of all company publications and products
• Drive revenue opportunities through establishing new selling points
• Innovative use of point of sale displays and visual merchandising materials
• Providing a high level of customer service to client networks
• Ensure retailers are complying with trading terms and provide ongoing education to ensure successful promotional executions
• Working under pressure to complete promotional  plans, and to multi-task to ensure timelines are met and call cycles are maintained

What we’re looking for in our next team member:

• Demonstrated experience working as a rep or merchandiser in a FMCG environment with a proven track record
• Ability to manage client feedback and complaints and quickly resolve issues
• Outstanding communication skills with the capacity to develop strong relationships
• Be a strong team player, be highly motivated and a self-starter
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 15kg
•  Have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Possess a reliable vehicle and current driver’s license
