The Opportunity

As part of Orange Hire’s growth strategy, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to work with our Sydney branch. This role will focus on promoting Orange Hire’s full range of products and services to current and potential customers within the Sydney region. The key focus and measurable expectations will be  to manage and grow the regions hire revenue across a portfolio of customers and major projects.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Acquire new business by promoting Orange Hire’s full range of products through cold calls, email campaigns, networking and lead qualifying
  • Build and foster relationships with key customers
  • Actively manage a forward pipeline of opportunities
  • Negotiate and establish partnerships with customers
  • Track major projects from specification to delivery
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date CRM system
  • Partner and collaborate with the sales team and other team members including Accounts Receivable

The Ideal Candidate;

You will have;

  • Proven track record in new business development with a Tier 1/2 in civil or commercial construction
  • Solid communications skills
  • High level of enthusiasm and passion about achieving goals & targets
  • Confidence to meet new people and present effectively, with enthusiasm
  • Desire to find solutions where challenges exist
  • Strong influencing and client relationship skills
  • Confidence to show initiative and contribute to team objectives
  • Excellent grooming and presentation
  • Strong administrative skills
  • A current driver’s license


A background in hire, civil and commercial building environments would be highly regarded. Your understanding of sales and operational environments and an ability to liaise and engage branch and support office teams will be critical. You will possess sound business development skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
