We are seeking a Development Manager to grow the Best Western brand throughout Australasia. In this role, you will be successful if you have a solid track record of negotiating the signing of License Agreements for multiple brands. Key area of responsibility:

 

  • Attracts highly qualified, new properties to the Best Western brand by researching, developing, and executing effective sales and marketing methods.
  • Delivers business results by following-up on all leads and submitting applications that meet growth and quality requirements. Analyzes complete economic, marketing, financial and statistical information, including photographs.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and thorough understanding of, assigned market and market trends by reviewing professional and industry publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best practices.
  • Generates leads through contacts with developers, other management companies, lend institutions, independent hotel operators, brokers, consultants, & private equity investors.
  • Acts as a liaison for operations until opening to ensure smooth entry into Best Western systems

 

Requirements:

 

  • Hotel Industry Experience/ Exposure is a must.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience, including management level assignments in the hotel industry.
  • Knowledge of hospitality development, including feasibility studies (market analysis and financial projections), blue prints and project evaluation. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and client database management.
  • Sound competition and industry knowledge. Broad professional know-how to meet technical standards. Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably.
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve development targets
  • Convinces others, both internal and external to organization, to accept new concepts and approaches. Finds common ground and gains cooperation and agreement from others. Communicates comfortably and effectively with high level external and internal contacts.
  • Resolves broadly defined problems by identifying root cause and identifying creative solutions. Successfully manages multiple, diverse projects and/or processes.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and be familiar with the company’s constitution, Agreement and other relevant documents.
  • Experience with sales contact management databases
