About Us:

Icon is a leading provider in customised apparel and sporting goods. Established in Hobart in 2015, the business has grown and is now seeking a Head of Sales to oversee the key accounts across Tasmania. Icon is a national brand with other stores across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia and is passionate about providing quality products to our clients, achieving 100% customer satisfaction and being proactive in both product and market development. 

 

The Role:

Reporting to the Directors, the Head of Sales is responsible for overseeing key accounts for Icon Tasmania and leading sales for the company. The role is a data-driven role that requires commercial acumen and will be responsible for monitoring and analysing sales performance, reviewing patterns in consumer behaviour and the competitive market, and subsequently defines data-driven action strategies in order to consistently optimise the business’s commercial performance.

 

The Head of Sales role is an integral part of the business in that it also involves the management of external partners and collaborations with numerous internal parties. The role will be given the autonomy to make decisions with the capacity to experiment, whilst working proactively to manage key existing relationships and driving sales across Tasmania.

 

The Head of Sales will be responsible for;

  • Account management,
  • Sales performance and sales development, 
  • Operational compliance, 
  • Customer retention and customer growth,
  • Maximising revenue, and
  • The implementation of business strategies. 

 

This role is suited to an ambitious and self-motivated professional who has strong strategic planning skills and is dedicated to leading a sales team within a fast paced, goal orientated and sales driven environment. Therefore, the ideal candidate will possess the following;

 

Qualifications:  

  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Management or Administration, or relevant experience. 
  • Current driver’s license.

Experience: 

  • 2 years previous experience in a similar role. 
  • Retail and/or sales experience essential.
  • Previous people management and leadership experience essential.
  • Previous experience with the control of profit and loss accounts and creating or developing business strategies desirable. 
  • Professional sales training would be a strong advantage. 
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth in a business.

Skills: 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, with a customer centric outlook. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally, and experience in qualifying, structuring and negotiating with business partners.
  • Ambitious, with drive and energy and a passion for delighting the customer.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and commitment to the organisation.
  • Multi-tasker and highly organised, with the ability to both set and meet deadlines and manage own time effectively.
  • Strong eye for detail and exceptional analytical skills – must have strong mathematical skills with a working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics.

 

This full time hands-on role will be based in Cambridge, Hobart, but will be required to travel across Tasmania on a regular basis.
