In this role you’ll have huge impact on the ongoing success of the company by securing strategic partnerships to provide our merchants with world-class product solutions and deliver top line revenue growth for the company.
 

What You’ll Do

  • Promote Bigcommerce product and services to existing and prospective best-in-class partners in the commerce ecosystem to drive net-new MRR and ancillary revenue.

  • Develop and execute the strategy for one or more portfolios of business, including the processes of identifying and engaging high potential prospects and nurturing them into becoming active partners in our ecosystem. This will include contract management and negotiations (i.e. quoting and negotiating prices and credit terms, completing contracts and recording orders, etc.)

  • Plan, organize, lead, and control balanced revenue growth, continued merchant awareness and customer satisfaction with a long term, multi-year focus.

  • Acquire and update knowledge of Bigcommece and competitors' goods and services, and market conditions in order to lead and collaborate with the BigCommerce team in developing and implementing effective go-to-market strategies (new integrations, new features, new markets) with new and existing partners. Responsibilities include working with and communicating across multiple team functions within BigCommerce and within partner organizations.

  • Responsible for the successful development and execution of BigCommerce’s Australia & New Zealand Partner program including compiling lists of prospective client businesses using trade directories and other sources to aid in the recruitment of leading solution providers across the ecosystem, ongoing oversight of program strategy, and growth of business unit metrics.

  • Draw on best practices and established methodologies to identify and negotiate complex high value deals with stakeholders, including executive management, business and technical stakeholders. This requires in depth assessments of our customers' needs and explanations of how our product and services meet their needs.

  • Work with partners to develop integration success metrics, including specific KPIs that drive merchant adoption and revenue growth for BigCommerce.

  • Work closely with the Partner Management and Partner Marketing teams to ensure successful onboarding and launches of acquired partners, through to development of ongoing growth activities with your partners.

  • Build excellent working relationships with all key business leaders, colleagues and broader team.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to establish broader tactical and strategic plans and objectives.

  • Create effective processes, leveraging tools and resources to scale your businesses.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of both BigCommerce (i.e. products, services, and value proposition) and of the key attributes of the best BigCommerce Strategic Partners.

  • Develop and maintain accurate reports including forecasts, records of business expenses incurred, tracking of SBD leads through partner activities, prospecting updates, and partner project status, and benefits to BC.

  • Travel to regular and prospective client businesses to establish and act on selling opportunities and maintain key relationships.

  • Follow up with partners to ensure satisfaction with goods and services purchased, arrange
    modifications and resolve any problems

  • Advocate for and participate in periodic product and competitive trainings.

  • Positively contribute to the Sydney office culture and development and implementation of corporate and/or organizational policies.

 

Who You Are

 

  • Experienced

    • 7+ years Sales experience, ideally at a $50M+ company

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent. MBA preferred.

    • Strong Internet, email, and electronic document management skills required.

    • An understanding of Salesforce.com, CRM best practices strongly preferred.

    • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and internet technologies (shopping carts, web hosting, email, and online marketing tools) is preferred.

  • Achiever - You have worked for industry leading technology companies, including very fast-paced startups at our stage and in a similar or adjacent technology sector, and have a proven history of successfully, consistently achieving quotas and objectives.

  • eCommerce geek - You are passionate about our space, with deep ecommerce domain expertise, in particular for the Small and Midmarket segments.

  • Connected - You have a network and established relationships with key decision-makers that extends to the executive level within the commerce and adjacent technology sectors.

  • Driven - You’ve demonstrated a clear trajectory of professional growth over time and have prior experience building shareholder value through sales processes.
