APM requires a highly skilled, very experienced employment specialist to work with our priority clients and assist them into employment.

A day in the life of this position:

  • Meet and work one on one with priority clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, towards placement in employment
  • Facilitate job applications and coach clients in the recruitment process including job interviews
  • Coordinate major recruitment projects and manage vacancies lodged by employers
  • Work alongside Employment Consultants to place job seekers into suitable employment
  • Revel in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Negotiate with employers to ensure success of job placements
  • Comply with database input requirements

Essential requirements

  • Highly developed communication skills suitable for building rapport with clients and relating to employers in a wide range of industries with a genuine sales approach
  • Demonstrated well developed written skills suitable for preparing proposals, sales briefs, job applications and selection criteria
  • Well developed industry and occupational knowledge of the local labour market
  • Ability to engage with the team of Employment Consultants towards achieving employment for mutual clients
  • Motivated and able to engage clients
  • Demonstrated understanding and respect for all Cultures, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures
  • A strong track record of successful placement and retention of clients into employment
  • Professional presentation
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Current driver's licence
  • Access to a comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes
  • Successful criminal history check
  • Working with Children Check (depending on State legislation)
