Location - Strathfield NSW

The Company - A well-established premium manufacturer of numerous baby products; we are well entrenched in the industry and a supplier to a number of leading baby retailers Australia wide. Well entrenched meaning that we have been supplying our clients since before man or woman first walked on the moon. Well positioned meaning that we are not only a premium manufacturer and supplier, we are in a fairly unique position of having total control over our products; affording our clients the luxury of tailoring anything/ everything to suit; meet and or exceed their needs. As the Account Manager you will be assisted by a team of 5 staff members and you will act as a pseudo team leader; time spent here is minimal as they are a very low maintenance group, each member has been with the company for between 5-10 years; they are well trained and know their jobs very well; they are efficient; loyal; honest and trustworthy.
As the Area manager you will need to manage a portfolio of 5 million dollars at buyer level with occasional accompanied store visits; for purpose of complete disclosure, we have others that do the grunt work at store level, you just make an appearance from time to time to show the love. Growth does happen exponentially via the existing accounts, however this position has a requirement for additional acquisition; in short your job will include working on new potential baby industry stores; securing a meeting with the owner/buyer at the store and convincing the buyer to create a little shelf space in their premium products section for our brand/products; in addition you will need to provide some training to their retail staff in the best way to move our/your brand. 
 
Additional skill sets that would make life easier for you in this position
Social Media Skills - A firm; solid; proven ability to generate opportunities through all forms of current and future social media outlets; this is not a skill that one would pick up via a short course or a bit of training; to be successful in this part of the job; social media will have to be part of your current and future lifestyle; a most accurate description of the ideal fit would be a person that has the above sales skill and has an app for everything and spends their spare time in the social media space and is ahead of the curve. You know that irritating person in the group that when you get together; you think that you have finally got them beat; you proceed to enlighten everyone about that new app or that new site, you are sure no one has heard of it yet and sure enough, they had already discovered it two weeks ago. If this is you then A. this could be the perfect fit for you; and B. Yes, the rest of us do find you annoying. : )
 
Eye for Detail or Design - Another additional skill set that will be of great use to you is the skill of looking to improve the products; when communicating with clients you will at times extract wish lists from them or slight changes they would like to see made with respect to the products; so your input will be of great interest to the design team.
 
Salary; Super; Allowances; Incentives; Perks and Tools - Salary in the first year of $85,000 plus $8075 in super; $15,000 car allowance; laptop; phone and calls and a $10,000 bonus structure based on KPI's; the director of the company who is well known for their generosity will provide, in due course for their longer serving staff members the opportunity to profit share in the company. Interstate travel 12 days per quarter; better clear that with your other half and see if its okay before you call.
