We are a dynamic, well established family business in the ACT Steel and Metal Industry. We are looking for a General Manager to manage our team at Fyshwick.
The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of staff, projects and initiatives to improve processes for Metalmart. This position works closely with the Directors and is critical to the success of the business.
The General Manager will be required to/responsible for:
- Deliver change across all operations as required
- Implementation of initiatives and projects
- Manage cost control
- Budget planning and management
- Protect and maintain profitability and improve where possible
- Develop and establish improvements in any process or procedure
- Provide direction to individual staff members and explain how individual roles are critical to the overall performance
- Ensure individuals are focused on achieving team goals and take action when performance standards are not being met
- Encourage others to make and take decisions, providing support and resources where necessary
Experience in management roles is essential. The successful applicant will have strong leadership qualities and proven management skills
