Sales Account Manager – Animal Nutrition & Health

 

The Challenge

 

Seeking a key player to be responsible for the development and management of designated existing and new Key Accounts including finished product and premix preparation and quotation, technical support, specific product management and liaison with Production staff regarding customer supply. The focus would be on new sales development in the pig, layer production and ruminant markets.

 

The successful individual would display:

  • A strong technical ability including analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills along with the marketing skills required to form strong customer relationships.
  • An entrepreneurial self-driven attitude who is goal-focused.
  • A personality that enjoys challenge and face-to-face customer interaction.

The Position

  1. Maintain current business portfolio.
  2. Aggressively grow profitable sales.
  3. Expand market share in national pig, layer & Ruminent Markets.
  4. Launch & rapidly expand sales of new products into the market.
  5. Maintain current Price Lists.
  6. Maintain good working relationships through visiting each customer at least once per year, allowing 50% of available time spent visiting customers.
  7. Prepare timely quotations on new Premixes.
  8. Answer technical queries during customer feedback.
  9. Liaise with production staff regarding customer supply.
  10. Maintain technical skills & knowledge of recent advances by attending conferences and seminars; Ideally between 2 to 4 National conferences per year.
  11. Take on the role of DSM Australia's pig and/or layer industry expert through attending at least 4 technical industry meetings a year.
  12. Observe Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) policies and instructions, and report on incidents and near misses.
  13. Quality system responsibilities where non-conformities relating to product, process and quality  when recognized can be liased with QA Representatives to plan and prevent such future issues.

 

.The Ideal

  1. Ideally 5 years' experience within the Australian animal premix, stockfeed for animal production industries in a technical and marketing role is preferable.  If you possess less experience or are a new grad, we are still interested in your application.
  2. Good communication / presentation skills.
  3. Sound technical and practical understanding of animal nutrition and feed formulation for all species.
  4. Tertiary qualifications, such as B.Sc. or B.Appl.Sc. in area required to fulfil the technical requirements of the position as a minimum..
  5. Industry and marketing experience with customer base knowledge
  6. Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, GMP is advantageous.
  7. A relevant Masters degree is preferable but not essential.
