The Client

My client is a leader and innovator in the industrial fabrication industry.

As an innovator in the industry, they pride themselves on establishing ground-breaking standards in the manufacturing and supply of construction materials.

The Role

The core function of this role is to lead, develop and manage one of our 4 divisions, providing strategic direction, leadership, execution and coaching to create a high performing and successful team.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the role will oversee all elements of this division including strategic planning and direction, people development, division performance, product range opportunities, inventory management and division general management. This includes, working closely with the Sales Director to foster strong and beneficial relationships with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, research and development and operations and production and logistics to ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions to our customers and improve the entire customer experience.

The Responsibilities

  • Create and implement, in conjunction with the Sales Director, the business strategy
  • Review and manage the division’s profit and loss, ensuring the delivery of agreed revenue and profit targets across the division
  • Drive the review of existing customers and ensure new customers meet any partnership criteria, to build and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships, as per the business strategy which will include the increased customer use and development of the digital platform
  • Drive the strategic growth of the division, through new business with current and new customers for our range of products
  • Report, as required, on the division, including tracking to agreed KPI’s on revenue, profit, inventory, project forecasting, people etc
  • Drive the review and updating of account strategies across key partners, are developed and documented, in line with the business strategy
  • If required, support the team to resolve any customer issues that may arise, so a timely resolution can be achieved
  • Ensure the team actively update the CRM with any customer detail, such as customer strategy, key contacts, visits, presentations, projects, correspondence and any attachments pertaining to the customer
  • Drive the continual development and introduction, education and mentoring of customers in the digital platform we use
  • Lead by example and actively promote the value proposition in the market
  • Lead by example and endorse company behaviours and values
  • Understand, observe, and adhere to, company policies and procedures, including WH&S policies and procedures and always, ensure that work practices are conducted in a safe manner

The Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Divisional Manager, Business Manager or a relevant role
  • Proven success in managing a high performing team
  • 10+ years’ experience in B2B sales, with proven general business management and achievement
  • Strong data analytics and reporting
  • Outstanding communication skills; verbal and written
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong capability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to manage and influence relationships and expectations at all levels of an organisation

Intermediate capability on MS Office

  • Previous system (Syspro,Pronto, SAP, or other) experience and/or exposure
  • Familiarity with CRM software
  • Understanding & knowledge of the manufacturing environments
  • Previous experience in recruiting, developing, training high-potential sales people
  • Previous experience in performance management
  • Professionally presented and punctual; always
  • Strong work ethic with a friendly, positive, can-do attitude towards job, people, product and self-potential
  • Pro-active learner; willing and motivated to learn all product, systems and market information
  • An ability to work & contribute as part of a team; see beyond job role, department and division to what matters to the entire business
  • Adaptability to new technologies, new resources, and new people
  • Able to ‘bring the fun’ whilst recognizing the need to deliver our plan
