What’s the job involve?

You will be leading a team of Customer Acquisition Specialists to identify and specifically target and win contracts with customers for whom there is currently low share of wallet, lost or customers will no known relationship with Australia Post. In this role you will be expected to perform as an expert Customer Acquisition Specialist, particularly on significant bids, with the ability to win work across the full Australia Post Group Portfolio.

The customer portfolio will consist of existing (low share of wallet) and prospective customers that have been identified as high value contract acquisition opportunities. Within the portfolio, you will pursue a targeted list of sales opportunities across the following categories:

The team will Identify, qualify, propose, negotiate and close new business opportunities as well as cross sell and upsell products, services and solutions to customers with low share and high potential and will be accountable for driving growth of AP products and services.

The key challenge and opportunity for the Customer Acquisition function is to build out the relevant acquisition strategies and identify opportunities with customers with low or no Account Management or win back lost customers. You will be required to set the priorities for this team and lead them to achieve the revenue targets set for the Customer Acquisition team.

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Extensive experience designing and implementing customer acquisition strategies for organisations across differing phases of the engagement lifecycle (e.g. new customers, existing customers, and customers lost to competitors).
  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, particularly where no prior relationships exist.
  • Significant experience selling complex B2B solutions to large customers including identifying, qualifying, proposing and closing sales opportunities.
  • Strong proposal writing and delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen.
  • Ability to open communication streams and establish account relationships where none currently exist.
  • Extensive experience building long-term trusted advisor relationships with Senior Executive stakeholders (internal and external) and the ability to influence these stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate across the internal stakeholders within the organisation to position Australia Post to achieve its objectives.
