About Us:

Turfbreed is a premium turf genetics manager and partner of choice for professional turf growers and consumers. A fast-growing business currently responsible for the sales of over 40% of Queensland turf, we help turf farmers increase their sales and profitability by bringing more customers to each farmer’s business. We currently licence ten premium plant-breeder’s products such as Empire Zoysia and Palmetto Buffalo, the world’s number one selling brand of buffalo grass. Our goal is to become the market leader and continue to revolutionise gardens and landscaping with our innovative products.

About The Role:

We are looking to employ a high-achieving BDM to develop and manage relationships with our licensees – Qld and NSW turf farmers - and increase sales growth in the region. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be an innovative self-starter with two key focus areas. Firstly, you’ll work with Turfbreed growers to build their business brand and profitability; help them win tenders involving Turfbreed products; and enhance TurfBreed’s goal of being the preferred turf genetics manager. To do this successfully you’ll have to have an affinity for agriculture and an understanding of farmers’ needs.

Secondly, you’ll be promoting TurfBreed varieties with peak industry bodies, government departments, specifiers and at trade shows. As the face of the organisation, you’ll use your sales expertise to actively promote our products with a specific focus on enhancing each turf variety’s brand in the marketplace. You’ll also identify and develop potential TurfBreed licensees to expand our turf grower network.

Note this is not a role for an industry hack. We are looking for a someone with integrity and excellent communication skills who can create positive, long-lasting relationships that deliver excellent business outcomes. You’ll also need some sales administration skills as you’ll manage compliance of turf grower royalty payments and marketing fund contributions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of turf sales. Because this business was a recent purchase, we’ll also look to you for input on overall corporate strategy and marketing initiatives, such as our soon-to-be-released website.

As an employer we pride ourselves on our positive corporate culture and encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates. You may be in an existing sales role looking for a position that better suits your lifestyle, or you may be working as BDM looking to transfer to an organisation with more potential. Regardless of circumstances, this is a fantastic opportunity for those who have excelled in the past and are looking for a satisfying role, with increased flexibility and autonomy.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven success at building relationships and demonstrated long-term sales achievement in a BDM role, in any industry.
  • An affinity for agriculture, and the ability to relate well to farmers.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results, with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and learning.

If you are someone who thrives on sales and is looking to be a valuable member of a fast-growing company, please email your CV and cover letter to:
