The Company
SMAART Recruitment are proud to be working alongside the leaders in the international conferences and events industry. Our client cover 1200 events over 6 continents. The goal set out to achieve is to create and successfully deliver b2b conferences at a senior executive level.
  
The Role
This position is all about bringing the event to life through sponsorship sales. You will be in charge of large scale events and seeking sponsors through new prospects via F2F meetings and calling. This role also includes generating new business through the existing client base. You will also be attending some of the events around Australia and New Zealand.
  • Identifying target markets through deep and thorough searching (LinkedIn eg) 
  • Inventory and Database Updating
  • Revisiting old clients to generate new business opportunities
  • Support the Account Managers with quotes and configurations
  • Creating tailored pitching to sponsorship opportunities
  • Speaking with clients daily to follow-up on quotes, discuss licensing options and answering questions they have.
  • Ability to manage, up-sell and cross-sell services to current and new clients 
  • New business development through cold calling or qualification of leads
  • Building sustainable business relationships and alliances with clients
  • Work with the team to ensure monthly targets are reached
Role Requirements
Must be a sales hunter who is happy to be at the office 70% and meeting prospects 30%. The main requirement to be successful in this role is to listen and learn and also be proactive. We are looking for
  • 2+ years in event sales at a senior level
  • A willingness to prepare and follow-up on any leads and half chances
  • Previous successful experience in BDM
  • Superior ability to pick up and retain new  knowledge on the job 
  • Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Previous experience within targeted industries (Media & Entertainment, AEC) is desirable but not a deal breaker
  • Client focused, proactive and driven
  • Enjoy and want to learn more about the sales process
  • Onsite attendance and management of sponsors
