The Role

We have a newly created a position Senior Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing IT consultancy business who are delivering technology services and solutions to Mid-Market and Enterprise clients. Whilst you are expected to be self-motivated and driven, the company will also help expand your personal skills and ultimately your career. This role will work directly with the Board of Directors and as the business grows, progress and diversify your position.

The Challenge

This role will be a key management position responsible for increasing sales revenue by creating and developing the key processes and skills required for overall sales growth. With a referenceable client base, Liberate IT Australia is at the start of their growth phase with significant backing from our parent organisation. You will have full responsibility to develop and implement marketing strategies, complete your own sales and ultimately grow the sales team from the ground up. In order to deliver growth and put into action chosen business plans, you will also need to be out on the road, presenting solutions and winning new business, developing key relationships and adapting sales and marketing strategies accordingly. This role is for someone who enjoys building a business, is hands on, and is not afraid of hard work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the overall Mid-Market and Enterprise Sales strategy
  • Build and manage Sales / Marketing team in achieving individual, team, and organisational quotas
  • Define new models and processes to grow the business
  • Grow and maintain effective business relationships with internal business groups to ensure maximum effectiveness of the sales organisation
  • Drive and have personal involvement in strategic sales opportunities
  • Build amazing talent in the organisation by attracting high quality external candidates, and enabling strong career growth for the team managed by you.
  • Be a strong positive and motivational leader at both the strategic and tactical levels, able to see and articulate the bigger picture.
  • Being acknowledged by all people with whom they interact as being a positive, inspirational and results oriented leader.

The key proficiencies we are looking for in this role include:

  • 10+ years’ experience in software sales with at least 2-3 years’ experience in ERP related sales.
  • Minimum of 3 years Leadership role.
  • Background in IT solutions to Mid-Market and Enterprise clients throughout Australia
  • Ability to build vision and contribute to business planning
  • Superior relationship skills
  • Understand and define the sales cycle and accompanying processes to achieve them.
  • Proven new business development experience in an IT related field and passion for cloud technology.
  • Outstanding communication skills, being both outspoken and a good listener
  • Experienced negotiator, self-motivated, strong influencing skills
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Have executional Excellence: ability to consistently achieve results and exceed targets.
  • Have a demonstrable record of leadership integrity. Must be able to leverage diverse strengths, share knowledge, create and celebrate team’s success.
  • Tertiary qualified in Business or IT preferred not mandatory.
