Netball Victoria is the peak sporting body for netball in Victoria with over 113,000 members.  NV proudly manages the Melbourne Vixens, an elite women's netball team in the Suncorp Super Netball.    

Off the back of a $64.6m funding injection into the redevelopment of the State Netball and Hockey Centre at Parkville, women's sport has never been more exciting or popular, with ever increasing strong interest across the commercial landscape.

Netball Victoria is currently seeking a General Manager Commercial Development to join the Executive Team. This key business development  role will be responsible for the identification and acquisition of new revenues, sponsorships, partnerships, licensing & accreditation, merchandise and apparel in order to deliver sustainability to Netball Victoria and the Melbourne Vixens. Working collaboratively across the team, this role will professionally and enthusiastically promote the brand and reputation of Netball Victoria and the Melbourne Vixens

The ideal candidate will: 

  • be able to attract, secure and retain sponsorship and other commercial partnerships, including licensing and merchandising arrangements.
  • be able to pursue clients for all hospitality/inner sanctum products including meeting specified targets, net revenue growth and profit margin.
  • have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in sales, sports sponsorship, licensing or relevant business development.
  • be driven to succeed, motivated to sell and meet targets and budgets.
  • have a strong personal alignment with Netball Victoria's values of:  Integrity, Teamwork, Innovation, Empowerment and Accountability.
  • have sound negotiation skills including demonstrated experience in contract and partnership renewal negotiations.
  • demonstrate a natural ability to develop and maintain strong, positive and sustainable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including partners, corporate, government, staff and other non-for-profit organisations both inside and outside of netball.
  • possess exceptional presentation, communication and negotiation (oral and written) skills.
  • ideally understands the sport and entertainment market.  Experience in sport and a passion for netball will be an advantage.
  • hold relevant tertiary qualifications, driver's license and Working with Children Check.
