Our client, CDP Waste2Energy (CDP W2E) are a rapidly expanding waste-to-energy company using technology to revolutionise sustainable waste management and energy production all while committing to have a positive impact on the environment and communities in which they operate. 

CDP W2E was established to commercialise technology it had developed to efficiently convert a variety of feedstocks such as municipal, construction and industry waste or coal, to high quality diesel. They have developed the innovative system to convert materials containing hydrocarbons (such as waste plastics) to high quality diesel. Currently CDP W2E is particularly relevant for communities, public authorities, governments and energy and resources corporations that aim to achieve energy security while enhancing economic, environmental and social value through their specialisation in project specific design to clients. 

Currently CDPW2E is in a period of unprecedented growth and as a result are seeking applications from suitable and experienced Business Development candidates with a background in Waste Management for a newly created Waste Management Specialist role. This is role provides a genuine opportunity for career development whilst developing the businesses commercial relationships within industry. 

The primary function of this role will be to identify and create markets via the facilitation and development of contracts supporting CDP W2E’s commercial projects.  Successful candidates will have previous Waste Services industry experience alongside solid commercial business development and/or strategic development roles throughout their career. 

At it’s core, this roles responsibilities are:

• To identify and pursue sustainable relationships within the waste services/waste management sector;

• Be involved in end-to-end contract management, including proposals, negotiations and reviews to assess performance in line with objectives;

• Liaising with internal legal counsel to examine and understand contract terms and conditions to improve outcomes for CDP W2E and its clients; 

• Be at the forefront of industry related developments and trends and their implications for the CDP W2E business;

• Contribution to the development of strategic plans for the broader business development function; 

• Stakeholder management and understanding of how the operating requirements of CDP W2E's projects impact the Waste Management Specialist portfolio;

• Proactive representation of CDP W2E's operating purpose to build long-term relationships in industry. 

Ideally you will have the following to be successful in this role:

• Tertiary qualification or relevant industry experience in a similar role;

• Strong commercial acumen and communication skills;

• Proven experience in the waste services and/or management sector are essential;

• Ideally 7+ years’ of experience in a similar role;

• Ability to travel both domestic and internationally as required.
