About the Role
5Tales are a growing, innovative digital marketing agency making a difference to businesses across Australia through specialised digital marketing support.
We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Junior Business Development Manager to assist in growing the business and managing our brand. The initial responsibilities assigned to the successful candidates will comprise administrative, sales and digital marketing duties. Through ongoing training and support, this role will develop with the successful candidate, with a view to growing the candidate into the head of our Business Development department for the agency.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a long-term team member to join and contribute to growing a small business. You will be required to work from your home or remote office, so the successful candidate will have strong self-discipline and be highly motivated. Our team members communicate regularly via Daily Google Hangouts, Slack and Trello, and have regular team meet-ups to ensure we maintain a fantastic workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to one of our Directors, your key responsibilities will be:
- Writing proposals for prospective clients for their SEO, Google Advertising and Website campaigns.
- Taking inbound calls, gaining relevant information and arranging appointments between the client and salesperson. For the right candidate, this will quickly evolve into closing inbound sales yourself.
- Coordination of marketing events and supporting activities, as required.
- Creating and coordinating content for social media for 5Tales. This involves sourcing and posting content and monitoring.
- Updating the various websites operated by the marketing agency in order to maintain currency and improve their ability to generate new enquiries.
- Providing some assistance to the Director in terms of client related digital marketing work, as required.
- For the right candidate the above responsibility will very quickly progress into more senior ones.
On a typical day, you will:
- Be involved in our daily team huddle each morning via Google Hangouts
- Communicate with team members throughout the day (we use Slack and Trello)
- Communicate with clients via telephone for onboarding and articulating our services
- Work within the Google Drive suite of tools (Google Sheets, Docs and Slides) for most tasks
- Basic Design tasks
Ideally, the successful candidate will take ownership of this role, and the role will then develop with you.
