Caprice is a market leader in both branded and licensed soft goods within the Australian retail market, working with iconic brands such as Walt Disney, Warner Bros and Nickelodeon and partnering with major Australian retailers such as Big W, Target, Myer, Jay Jays and Spotlight.
As part of their own brand portfolio, Caprice have recently acquired the iconic Australian surfwear brand Mambo and are currently looking to appoint a highly dynamic and experienced Sales and Product Development Manager to join their fast-paced apparel team.
About the role
Reporting into the executive team, you will work closely with the Creative Director to ensure all ranges and designs developed are on brand and in keeping with the Mambo trends. The role crosses both product development and sales so the ideal candidate needs to be able to drive opportunities and increase sales through product development, ranging, price and promotional activities. This is an outstanding and rare opportunity to own the next stage of growth of this iconic Australian brand.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage comprehensive relationships with both existing and new retail partners line with the company’s mission, business strategy and growth
- Lead and oversee positioning of the Mambo brand pushing new business opportunities, particularly promotional activities to drive increased sales and profit.
- Developing and presenting ranges both internally and externally
- Management of pricing and margin mix to meet gross profit targets.
- Maintain a high level of internal reporting and analytics
- Develop and maintain excellent external and internal stakeholder relationships including with Caprice’s international offices, merchandising and supply chain teams.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant apparel/consumer goods industry experience selling into Department Stores, Mass Merchant or mid-sized independent retail stores within sales, product development or as a buyer in this space looking to make the move supplier side.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to develop and maintain both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with strong decision making ability.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and lead others through the process of change.
- Experience with analysing consumer data trends, market segmentation and consumer behavior
- Experience or a high level of interest in the surfwear category will be highly regarded.
