The Role:

As Business Development Consultant you will work as part of the Asteron Life State Sales Team with an overall purpose to drive Life Risk growth. Managing a portfolio of advisers in a geographical market you will achieve growth, retention and conversation sales targets by developing profitable relationships via phone based account management. This is an exciting opportunity that has become available due to an internal promotion and is based in our Melbourne office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive phone based contact of assigned advisers to improve understanding of Life Risk products and ultimately increase volume of business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Advisers within portfolio and their office staff as appropriate to maximise financial opportunities.
  • Adviser retention monitoring and work with BDMs, BDCs and BDOs in managing and addressing issues to contribute to portfolio growth and minimise attrition levels and to achieve growth
  • Own the performance of the adviser portfolio, being an advocate for Suncorp's Life Risk capability and taking accountability for issue resolution.
  • Attending face to face meetings and events as and when required.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships, and a strong customer service focus
  • Resilience, with a passion for working towards targets and a proven track record in sales would be advantageous.
  • Proactive approach and someone who is driven by success
  • RG146 Compliant
  • Strong business acumen
