The State Sales Manager (Truck & Machinery) leads and manages the day to day sales activities for the designated state to maximise sales through the delivery of a consistently high level of customer service to our buyers, sellers and internal customers. Proactively seeking out new business opportunities themselves and with their BDM team’s in the region, while maintaining close management of existing accounts to ensure sales targets are achieved.

This position manages and drives all sales related activities of the BDM’s within the truck & machinery division including the day to day coaching training & mentoring of all BDM’s in the field. Liaising with the Operations team and site General Managers to ensure we deliver a high level of service to our buyers and sellers. Conscious that our service commitments in our Truck and Machinery contracts are delivered & also focusing on achieving the financial expectations & targets set by the business.

 

What do we need you to bring to the team?

  • Exceptional management, business development and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to lead mentor and grow the abilities of a sales team.
  • Hunt out & find new business opportunities with your team across a range of market sectors.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivation with a strong desire to achieve results with the team.
  • Exposure to truck and machinery markets and products.
  • Understanding of truck and machinery brands and models in the market.
  • Exposure to pricing of truck and machinery in the used equipment market.
  • Competency in the use of CRM systems and electronic calendars.

This is a full time, permanent position based at our Altona North site. We are offering a highly competitive salary, company vehicle or vehicle allowance, laptop, and mobile phone. As a key member of the sales team you are also eligible to participate in our business incentive plan.
