The company
This high profile $350 million logistics organisation operates across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW.  With the "go live" for a major new JV imminent and EA negotiations in process, the business' focus is supporting front line and operational managers to engage with 1400 blue collar staff and drive results.  

The role
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will be key contact for front line managers, union representatives and stakeholders.  You will use your sound knowledge of current legislation to provide IR and HR support to equip managers to drive performance and capability in their teams.  In addition you will have ownership of several projects.

The responsibilities
Your new and highly visible role involves being the go-to person for all operational HR and IR matters, including:
  • developing the performance development review process, to ensure managers are engaged and competent, proactive and managing their teams to optimum outcomes.
  • supporting leaders and employees to understand and adhere to industrial instruments, EEO, harassment and bullying prevention, diversity and inclusiveness frameworks.
  • building solid partnerships with union representatives and external stakeholders to optimise outcomes for both staff and the business.
  • acting as first point of call for escalations, grievances, disciplinary actions and conflict.  Conducting workplace investigations and resolving cases.
  • managing projects such as the review and streamlining of HR policies, rolling out new staff benefits, creating templates and leadership tools to empower supervisors and managers.
  • prepare HR reports and manage HR administration.
The candidate
In order to be successful in your application, you will:
  • hold a degree in HR, IR or a related field.
  • currently hold the position of HR Advisor or HR Business Partner and have considerable experience in managing performance and grievances first hand.
  • pride yourself on your ability to manage at all levels in an organisation and  remain composed and focused on solutions when faced with challenging situations.
The rewards
A salary of $94-100K plus superannuation plus car allowance and tools.  As a business-facing HR practitioner, you will enjoy meeting the operational teams at 14 sites across NSW for which you will be compensated with a car allowance.  You will enjoy mentoring from a supportive manager who has a view to succession planning.
