As a result of organic growth and expansion, we are actively seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Officer to join our team located at Rydalmere.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will work closely with senior management to meet and exceed the health, safety and quality strategic objectives and drive the ongoing implementation and improvement of the company's integrated management system.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Continuously improving and maintaining the integrated management system to ensure ongoing certification to ISO 9001 and achieving AS4801
  • Ensure safety policies, processes and systems are updated in line with legislation to support the ongoing monitoring and reporting of safety performance.
  • Constantly promoting a positive safety culture
  • Working with Regional Managers with workplace issues to minimise loss and prevent harm
  • Management of all incidents, injuries and near misses. This includes conducting investigations, coordinating medical appointments and acting as Return to Work Coordinator
  • Conducting scheduled and impromptu audits, inspections and observations
  • Creating, coordinating toolboxes across a number of sites
  • Preparing HSEQ reports and presenting findings and statistics
  • Report safety metrics to Management Team

About you - must haves:

  • Previous experience within the hire and or construction industries
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a "hands-on" safety, health and quality role
  • WHS qualification (Cert IV Minimum)
  • Return to Work Coordinator qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing ISO 9001 and AS/NZS 4801 systems
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in conducting operational risk assessments.
  • Experience in Six Sigma operational processes

It is essential that you are well organised and thorough. You must be able to display a high degree of initiative and competency in computer and IT skills (MS Office and other programs) along with excellent written and verbal proficiencies. 

A salary package, commensurate with your qualifications and experience, will be negotiated. It is a varied and busy work environment and requires experience in a similar role.
