The position

We have an exciting opportunity for an agile Senior HR Business Partner to be the lead on HR/IR support, advice and outcomes for Cleanaway’s VIC Solids Business Unit.  Working within a fast-paced business and supported by a high performing National HR Operations Team, you will provide day to day expertise and support to the Executive Leadership Team, Managers and Employees of the VIC Solids Business Unit. 

 

The position will be required to:

  • Build numerous and sustainable Enterprise Agreement strategies and successfully execute via negotiation
  • Support the management and optimisation of labour
  • Be comfortable dealing with key productivity metrics seeking continuous improvement opportunities
  • Manage HR/ER related activities such as coaching/developing managers, role design, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives
  • Facilitate investigations, disciplinary, termination and redundancy processes
  • Influence at the strategic level adding value through our operating model, facilitating clarity & alignment in line with Our Cleanaway Way and building a performance based culture as per our Cleanaway Leadership Model.

 

Skills and experience

To be successful for this position you will require a strong background in Industrial Relations specifically within a Blue collar and heavily unionised working environment. You will also require the following skills and experience:

  • Deep working knowledge of IR legislation with experience in formal tribunal proceedings and working with Trade Unions
  • Significant experience in negotiating numerous enterprise agreements
  • Managing complex disputes, grievances, investigations and performance management
  • Ability to manage high quantity and ambiguous information to efficiently solve problems
  • Ideally, experience also across the entire HR lifecycle (eg. workforce planning and optimisation, employee engagement, attraction and retention of talent)
