We are seeking an experienced Senior ER/IR Advisor with strong industrial relations and employee relations skills to join our team located in Brisbane working within our fast paced Mining, Energy and Industrial Services Division.

 

You will be responsible for the provision of high quality IR/ER advice and services to businesses across QLD, Victoria, NSW and NT.  To be successful you will need to build strong working relationships with managers, supervisors and HR to implement ER/IR in line with business strategies.

 

The role will have responsibility for the following key functions:

 

  • Ensure the delivery of timely and effective ER/IR advice and support to the business, including coaching and training supervision and other key stakeholders as required
  • Undertake the appropriate IR analysis to assist in the development and implementation of Industrial Relations Strategy and Enterprise Agreement negotiations
  • Undertake investigations where appropriate
  • Managing all IR related issues including disputes, employee grievances and FWC conciliations where appropriate
  • Assist in championing organisational change programs and re-structures
  • Undertake EA negotiations and assist in delivering effective change management
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with senior business leaders
  • Provide expertise and advice on workplace legislation, state based employment legislation, and awards and agreements, risk and compliance
  • Provide ER/IR support to tenders including appropriate IR strategy and Employee Relations Management Plans.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications with proven experience in a technical ER/IR role within a major construction, resources and/or contracting based business;
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of employment and industrial relations legislation and regulations;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing Employee Relations Management Plans
  • Demonstrated competence in providing ER/IR advice to support business strategy;
  • Demonstrable experience in IR strategy and the EA negotiation process, including communication strategy and training.
  • Demonstrated experience in conciliations
  • Sound knowledge of ER/IR practices with the ability to interpret awards and agreements;
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of all facets of right of entry under applicable legislation;
  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive management reports, policies and procedures;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
