We're on the hunt for a WHS Specialist to be based in our offices in Leichhardt, reporting to our Group WHS Manager. The main purpose of the role is to provide the business a service that ensures our safety systems are implemented, issues are resolved, risks are mitigated & consultation occurs, whilst driving a safety-first culture. This is a permanent full-time role.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their safety career. You'll need a sense of urgency, a positive proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
You'll also have:
- 3-5 years' experience in a generalist safety role
- Certificate IV in WHS or similar
- experience with end-to-end management of Work Cover claims, including reducing premium impacts
- qualifications in Return to Work, with First Aid & TAE qualifications preferred
- experience conducting safety training
- the ability to manage your own workload & changing priorities, and to recognise when help is required
- well-developed planning skills
- an engaging communication style, including written communication
- a passionate, enthusiastic, "can do", customer service-driven attitude!
- the ability to travel nationally
- a retail or FMCG background would be a bonus but not essential
In this role you will be responsible for:
- assisting in implementing WHS systems across the group
- incident & injury management
- managing Work Cover claims ensuring all requirements are met
- liaising with insurance providers, claims agents and legal professionals where required
- conducting training needs assessments and facilitating training
- WHS reporting and monitoring
- staying up to date with legislative requirements
