InterContinental Sydney, one of Sydney’s Iconic luxury harbourside hotel will soon be undertaking major restoration and rejuvenation and is currently building a focused team to build and deliver a truly exceptional and unique luxury experience. We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Director to join the leadership team on this exciting journey in the hotel history.

The Director of Human Resources will partner with the General Manager to develop and implement the InterContinental Sydney people strategy to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in the market to deliver on the IHG goal to create Great Hotels Guests Love. Lead the way in demonstrating how the Winning Ways (our set of behaviours) will continue to support IHG global recognition and ongoing position as employer of choice in the hospitality industry. The role sits on the Executive Committee of the hotel and will play a vital support role to the General Manager and Department Heads on driving the people agenda forward, including managing the annual HR budget and manning guide.
The ideal candidate will have experience both in hospitality and experience working in a large complex city hotel. You will have demonstrated capability in influencing and impacting business strategy and also have the ability to provide structure, governance and process to the human resources function. You will be a change agent with the ability to work along side a team, collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking and the ability to explore new ways of working and be open minded on how we can drive process forward will highly advantageous.
