OPS Screening & Crushing Equipment (OPS) have an impressive operating history of over 27 years of continued growth, with offices in WA, NT, SA, NSW and Indonesia as a leading supplier of mobile and screening, crushing, conveying and environmental equipment. As a result of our continued growth, we require the services of a qualified, motivated and experienced Recruitment person with HR knowledge and Safety administration experience. OPS has recently (last 21 days) relocated into a large modern workshop facility that allows us to continue our growth path, to meet our expansion goal. Recently we have expanded our business into Indonesia, which is an extremely exciting opportunity for us.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will apply your experience, skills and abilities to help our people to achieve their potential.

As an integral member of the OPS Team, the Recruitment & HR Advisor works across all levels of the company, providing an informed, professional and efficient service on all aspects of human resource management and strategy, as determined by the OPS Board. This includes working closely with senior staff to identify Recruitment & HR priorities, recommend appropriate people management solutions and manage issues which may arise. This is a true Recruitment & HR Generalist role, with some HSE clerical elements to the role.

OPS consider this role important for the long-term growth and development of the business, as well as the Company's commitment to invest in our people, helping them to succeed and are outcomes focused.

Your prime responsibilities are:

  • Provide day to day guidance on low level HR issues & HSE clerical aspects to the Directors and management.
  • Hands on dealing with end-to-end recruitment of personnel, from add placement, interviewing, reference checking, pre-employment medicals and inductions.
  • Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and network to recruit the right people.
  • Ensure the company and its employees conduct themselves fairly and to best practice and provide HR feedback to assist in the employee development.
  • Review employee letter of offer, ensure they are correct and consistent.
  • You are responsible for training and development is linked to the skills matrix, using approved budget and aligned with company goals.  Coach individuals to improve their knowledge and skills resulting improved attitude and career progression.
  • Continually review, act as a monitor and improve the existing performance management system to ensure the appropriate plans are in place to manage succession, retention, talent and career development.
  • Be solutions focused, aligning employee and team objectives with OPS goals
  • Work with the other leaders to further improve culture and ensure OPS is an employer of choice.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings which include taking minutes, be part of creating improved accountability throughout the company.
  • Manage safety related incidents, including injury management, return to work, work cover claims.
  • Compile safety data from the business for the management team.
  • Be responsible to record incident reporting, near misses and equipment damage across the business in the form of Information Sharing, Toolbox Talks or Safety Shares.

Applicants will need to meet the following criteria:

Education / Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or 5 years equivalent experience. 
  • Proven track record of recruiting good people, able to engage with the workforce with HR issues and safety assistance to the divisional managers, think strategically and be proactive.
  • Resilient with the ability to multi task, ability to switch between tasks with competing priorities.
  • .You must care about getting the right outcome for the Company and our Employee’s.
  • Must be very precise, articulate and have an eye for attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, self-driven.
  • Be proactive "Team Player" working collaboratively towards achieving team goals.

 

The remuneration package will depend upon the capability of the successful applicant, OPS will reward the right candidate by providing job satisfaction, long term employment and remuneration.
