Position – Work Health Safety Coordinator 

This position is within the Head Office Team, located in Liverpool.

Reporting to the General Manager, and working alongside the Recruitment Team, you will be a team player, with willingness and ability to work in a close knit team environment. Your passion for work health and safety will be matched with appropriate qualifications and experience. 

This is a part time role.  

The role is exciting and varied, with key functions including;

Overall management of WHS policies and procedures and their execution, Consulting to external clients when jobs arise, managing the WHS system including safety audits, assessing client sites and tasks, risk management and consultation, Client Visits and Drug and Alcohol testing (training will be provided if you do not have this certification currently).

The head office team work exceptionally well together and the successful individual will have the right attitude to fit in with this dynamic and fun team.

Overview of responsibilities

  • Managing all work health and safety for the business (maintaining and improving the current WHS system and related policies, procedures and documents), developing and facilitating toolbox talks for internal and external clients
  • Carrying out consulting work with clients as required (onsite or offsite may be required)
  • Conducting initial safety assessments for new clients and reviews for existing clients as per schedule
  • Carry out risk assessments and create safe work method statements if required
  • Contribute to projects as directed
  • Carry out drug and alcohol tests for WestWise candidates offsite or for pre-employment purposes (onsite) or client staff at client workplaces
  • Complete comprehensive reports (client safety assessments, HR reports, etc).

 

To be successful you will have…..

  • Qualifications/Certification in WHS fields or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise successfully with internal and external stakeholders, developing close working relationships
  • The ability to write reports, policies and procedures to a high standard
  • Ability to understand and advise on current WHS legislation and Standards
  • Ability to work across a varied landscape, including various workplaces and environments
  • Experience conducting site and equipment risk assessments and writing reports
  • Able to travel to various sites at short notice during work hours (own car required)
  • Have brilliant interpersonal skills and a professional but easy-going manner
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people from clients, to casual assignees, to insurer representatives and medical practitioners, and achieve great outcomes via collaboration

  • Previous consulting experience
