A high profile mid-size engineering consultancy with offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Located close to the train station with free parking onsite. This position reports to the Managing Director and Corporate Service Manager, and is responsible for providing operational and strategic HR support and advice in the area of HR and HSE. This is a stand alone position. 
  
Responsibilities:
  • Act as first point contact for all HR related queries and provide advice on HR policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Managing Director and Corporate Service Manager on HR matters including, strategy and planning, organisational design, employment legislation, employment relations, and best practice.
  • Manage recruitment, on-boarding, international mobility and off-boarding functions.
  • Coordinate all compliance and technical training; facilitate internal training such as, induction sessions, HSE and QA training.
  • Coach Principals on performance management; monitoring and guiding the handling of performance and engagement issues.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Service Manager and Senior Accountant to deliver effective remuneration and benefits to staff; conduct salary benchmarking and provide advice on salary offers, and reviews to the Managing Director.
  • Coordinate annual HR activities including, salary reviews, bonus scheme, and promotions.
  • Drive the Career Guidance Program and Principal Development Discussions.
  • Manage or participate in various HR/HSE projects as required.
  • Handle employment relations matters including, grievances, complaints, and investigations.
  • General HR administration including, drafting employment contracts, letters and reports, updating organisational charts and position descriptions, maintain the HRIS and employee files.
  • Support the HSE Manager in delivering WHS compliance for the company and coordinate HSE activities such as, HSE training, incident reporting, and return to work.
  • Success will include raising the brand profile of the firm to remain competitive in the market in attracting talent and implementing an improved performance management system. 
Skills and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar HR generalist role.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Self- starter with ability to adapt and be flexible to change.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and regulation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to employees at all levels.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
