About the Business

T-Ports is proud to have announced the construction and operation of the new Lucky Bay port facility, near Cowell on Eyre Peninsula, and an up-country storage facility at Lock in readiness for harvest this year. With nearly 500,000 tonnes of grain storage and other diverse business opportunities, this exciting project represents a state-of-the-art development for the region.

About the role

T-Ports understands that people are its greatest asset and key to future success. As a result, we are looking for an experienced HR Project Manager to take responsibility of the T-Ports employee life cycle. Reporting to the CEO, it is anticipated if successful, you will be issued a fixed term contract (6-12 month negotiable) to execute a clear mandate of setting up processes that align to the company’s strategic vision. Located in Adelaide's CBD, you will be  provided with dedicated administrative support with a view you will transfer your knowledge to individuals pursuing HR qualifications and to existing managers onsite. 

Ideally, we require a hands on, operational and practical HR Project Manager will exemplary communication skills and a can-do attitude. Due to the nature of operations, you must be well-versed in industrial law, complex employee relations and best practice interaction with unions if required.

As a priority, you will recommend and facilitate dedicated recruitment strategies to ensure the attraction and retention of key staff across sites in time for harvest.  You will drive a culture that is free from entitlement, promotes flexibility and encourages a multi-disciplined approach.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate the following: 

  • Previous experience building and leading a HR function (ideally in a grains, construction or industrial environment);
  • Well-developed industrial relations expertise;
  • Workforce planning and HR strategy development and execution;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships at all levels with a proactive and solutions focused outlook and highly collaborative working style;
  • High level interpersonal and communications ability, including motivation techniques, counselling and coaching skills;
  • A quality orientation and attention to detail focus;
  • Well-developed planning and work management skills;
  • Customer service orientation; and
  • Systems and IT acumen including HRIS, LMS and WHS systems.

Ideally you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, Business or other related professional discipline;
  • Previous HR management experience (within the agriculture or similar sector is desirable);
  • Previous experience building leadership competency; and
  • Payroll processing exposure.

Remuneration offered will be commensurate with experience.
