Due to growth we are looking to recruit a WHS Advisor based in either Mackay or Emerald, servicing our Northern QLD operations. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the General Manager whilst working closely with our National WHS Manager. You will be required to monitor and maintain HCA's work health and safety management system inline with current legislation, ensure that we maintain and continue to improve our workplace safety culture, identify and effectively manage workplace hazards and risk whilst ensuring the safety and well-being of all HCA employees, contractors and visitors.

 

Your other duties will be including but not limited to:

  • Maintain as a minimum, legislative compliance and 18001 accreditation across your areas of responsibility including other areas in which HCA operate
  • Identify WHS training requirements and develop appropriate training materials
  • Conduct relevant and timely WH&S training sessions for management and staff
  • Manage accident/incident investigations, Workers Compensation claims and Return to work plans to ensure efficiency within our business
  • Continual development/monitoring/improvement of HCA's WHS management systems
  • Work with Managers and Stakeholders at all levels supporting national WHS strategies

 

To be successful you will possess the following:

  • Extensive experience as a WHS Advisor
  • Exposure to Mining, Trades, Manufacturing or Warehousing Industries
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation
  • Experience in delivering training sessions and toolbox talks
  • A minimum qualification of Diploma in WHS, Cert IV T&A, RTW Certification
