At present, Agri Labour Australia is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety specialist for an expansive role that requires travel between NSW and South Australia.
Description
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Group Director, this is an exciting role with a dynamic and progressive company. As Farm WHS Specialist, you will enjoy diversity of location, travelling to the Riverland and Mallee areas of South Australia and Hillston, NSW.
The role is responsible for the implementation, execution, maintenance and continuous improvement of the WHS system. Driving and influencing best practice, the position will see you delivering timely and effective WHS advice to key stakeholders across the farming sector.
Undertaking incident investigations and advising on corrective actions, you will proactively promote a culture of safety to ensure staff follow and identify unsafe activities and practices. Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Implement, execute, maintain and continuously improve WHS management system
- Drive and influence the implementation of best practice WHS processes
- Provide timely and effective WHS advice to stakeholders across the farming sector
- Carry out WHS legislative compliance checks and auditing
- Perform thorough and detailed incident investigations and advise on corrective actions
- Hazard identification, risk assessment and control implementation
- Development and application of safe work practices, procedures and policies
- Take a hands on approach to WHS improvement initiatives and actions
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will have an extensive knowledge of Australian WHS Legislation and be able to demonstrate your experience in the implementation and execution of WHS management and processes.
With highly effective communication and leadership skills, you have the ability to influence others and create a strong culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Discrete and well organized with good time management skills, you will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct in all duties. To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:
- Tertiary Qualification in safety or proven equivalent experience
- Current drivers license
- Physical stamina and ability to manage stress and changing situations
- Excellent relationship skills
- Ability to evaluate information quickly
- Responsible and purposeful
