The Company

The client is seeking a true expert in Human Resources and People Management to assist with all matters HR related. Working closely with the Group Executive Director of People and Culture and a Chief Executive, this position will support and advise Managers across a large division of the business. The organisation for an award winning national not-for-profit organisation based in Richmond that really focus on their people and development.

 

The Role

As well as leading a team of fifteen HR specialists including Learning and Development Specialists, your main responsibility will be to work collaboratively with Executives and Managers, partnering with stakeholders to provide high quality and timely advice on HR matters. You will be required to provide your expertise with employee relations across the organisation. This role combines both strategic and operational responsibilities and you will be required to be "hands-on".

This generalist position will focus on various HR components such as:

  • Implement HR strategies to attract, recruit, select, develop and retain quality professionals
  • Provide advice and training to Managers on recruitment strategies
  • Ensure all staff are appropriately orientated
  • Ensure all HR services and practices are delivered to effectively support management such as performance appraisals and implementation of HR systems and training
  • Provide HR support to WorkCover and return to work cases
  • Provide accurate and timely advise in relation to award and agreement negotiation, interpretation and implementation
  • Participate and provide accurate advice in organisational change initiatives
  • Contribute to policy and procedure review and development
  • Ensure workshops are conducted to mandatory HR training
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for workplace investigations and performance management
  • Liaise with industrial unions for prevention and management of disputes
  • Maintain and builds effective relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in Work Health Safety initiatives and other HR projects

 

What will I need to succeed?

  • Proven experience in a senior HR Management role with a fast paced and complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary HR and IR practices as well employment frameworks
  • A HR degree and post graduate degree (or working towards) is essential
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and liaise to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information exercising the highest degree of discretion
  • Resourceful and have practical common sense
  • Strong people management skills
  • Flexible attitude and hand's on approach
