Deputy Director, Human Resources

  • $116,863 - $156,387 (Plus Superannuation)

The Employment, Investment and Trade Group (EIT) delivers programs and services to grow the Victorian economy. Its focus in on creating jobs and raising incomes through industry development, targeted investment and increasing the export value of Victorian firms. 

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and working as part of the leadership team, the Deputy Director, Human Resources plays a crucial role in leading the ongoing development of the HR Business Partnering model and offering contemporary human resource management practices and solutions in conjunction with a cohesive HR shared services function. 

Leading a team of HR Business Partners and Recruitment Specialists this position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across a diverse and complex range of business segments with regional, national and international significance.    

Key functions of the role will be to: 

  • Lead a high performing, contemporary Human Resource Management (HRM) Service
  • Ensure continued best practice through streamlined and effective HR policies, procedures and systems
  • Provide strategic and operational HRM advice to senior stakeholders within the Employment Investment and Trade Group
  • Champion change management, develop and implement strategies and initiatives to support positive change across the business
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders, working to achieve EIT's strategic and operational objectives

To succeed in this role the successful applicant will need to have: 

  • Senior Human Resource Management experience, preferably in a large multi-disciplinary organisation with proven capability delivering strategic and operational HR services
  • A proven background providing expert advice, engagement and decision-making ability at senior and executive levels
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading a high performing team of HR Business Partners and Recruitment professionals and developing measurable and achievable performance standards
  • The ability to be a strong communicator and collaborator, have excellent written and presentation skills
