We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Experience Designer who is seeking a position based in Geelong within a Federal Government Department. This is an APS5 level role and will be a temporary assignment until September 2019.

This role can be based in Melbourne CBD or Geelong, as long as 2 days per week are worked out of the Geelong office.

The Role:

The major focus of this role is on learning and development analysis and design, some of which will be developed in-house, and some of which will be outsourced.

The Learning Experience Designer will be responsible for a range of learning and development design functions including:

  • Assisting with the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of engaging, results- oriented learning solutions across the full 70:20:10 spectrum
  • Liaising with external providers to ensure consistently, high quality product deliverables
  • Assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of learning solutions to ensure programs are impactful, strengthen business practices, and improve culture and performance
  • Support the maintenance of the learning management system (LMS)
  • Identify opportunities to leverage on technology to drive performance improvements (such as LMS, Intranet etc)
  • Ensuring all instructional design outputs meet accessibility standards

About you:

Please note; this role is not a training/delivery role and candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in the below areas in order to be considered:

  • Strong experience in Instructional design (not delivery), working within the 70:20:10 methodology (essential)
  • An understanding of e-learning design principles (essential)
  • Experience in development of e-learning (desirable)
  • Understanding of storyboarding (desirable)
  • Competency with IT systems and the MS office suite
  • Adaptable communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work within the team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
