About the Role

The Learning & Development Officer plays a key role in coordinating and supporting the development and delivery of effective learning and development programs. This includes contribution to the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfill their potential within LiveBetter.

Some key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Contributing to the culture of continuous learning at LiveBetter.
  • Delivering induction and other mandatory training provided by LiveBetter.
  • Training and assessment preparation and delivery in accordance with LiveBetter’s Learning & Development policy.
  • Developing an understanding of the workplace systems and procedures, cycles, and key contact people to ensure training is customised and contextualised to each service area.
  • Creating and/or delivering e-learning packages and training programs with content experts.
  • Actively supporting our flexible workforce by providing structured and unstructured training.
  • Delivering training programs within short timeframes to equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills, and motivation to carry out work-related tasks.
  • Administering and preparing for training events including data entry, booking staff into training, setting up training rooms and other administrative functions as directed.

The role will involve some travel and overnight stays.

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Personal commitment to improving your own knowledge along with the ability to be open minded, learn from others in the organisation and share knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training and measure training effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage tasks, time and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high level IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 products and operation of computers and tablets.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the capacity to generate innovative solutions and conduct analysis and training needs assessments.
  • Current Drivers Licence with the ability to travel as required (including overnight stays).

It would also be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience in the Disability Services or Health Care sectors.
  • Relevant Community Services or other industry qualification, preferably Certificate IV level or above.
  • Experience in designing and delivering eLearning and other flexible learning and assessment material.

You will also be required to undertake and pass a National Criminal Check, pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening and a Working with Children Check.
