The Opportunity – Safety Health Wellbeing Advisor

This is a Full Time Permanent Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join our team and lead the organisation in health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring compliance in all Safety Health and Wellbeing matters across a diverse range of locations and settings. The Safety Health and Wellbeing Advisor proactively supports the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and visitors. This role will provide a range of specialist advice and support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to safety health and wellbeing, workers compensation and injury management. The position requires coverage (and minimal travel) of the NSW & Qld branch network.

What will you do

  • Assisting in the completion of Safety Health and Wellbeing Audit functions with an aim of achieving continuous improvement
  • Provide training
  • Injury Management processes, including implementation of early intervention of work and non-work related injury/illness.
  • Managing relationships with regulated authorities to ensure proactive and positive communication and outcomes
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly injury statistics and related reports for Executive management and Board
  • Liaise with the Safety Health and Wellbeing Manager regarding corrective actions (post incident)
  • Participate with Safety Health and Wellbeing Committee
  • Assist in the development of company Safety Health and Wellbeing Management system including project work
  • Co-ordinate ongoing preventative health initiatives in line with Greater Banks Wellbeing Program

As the successful candidate you will have;

Your exceptional relationship building skills combined with your collaborative and empathetic approach are key to this role as you provide coaching and support to managers and employees. You are computer savvy and a confident user of the suite of MS Office programs. 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Additional you will have:- 

  • Health qualifications/background ideally in one of the following disciplines, Rehabilitation Counsellor, Registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapy, Register Nurse, Exercise Physiologist
  • Current registration with appropriate bodies
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in workers compensation claims/injury management within a white collar environment
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking & problem solving;
  • Honesty, integrity, a good team attitude & positive approach;
  • Genuine commitment to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influence skills
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Competent MS Office skills including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the current Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Cert IV in WHS/OHS
