Due to an internal integration of our Infrastructure and Rail business units, we have an exciting new role that will sit across our Transport and Infrastructure portfolio for a Training Coordinator. The key purpose of this role is to support the rail business by ensuring that Technical Training requirements (as defined) and relevant employee compliance are identified, recorded, monitored and maintained in a timely and accurate manner. This role is based at our Auburn site and reports to the Technical Training Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the Company’s selected Learning Management System (LMS) is appropriately configured for Rail’s requirements to enable effective reporting and management of training needs and contains accurate/up-to-date information to support training compliance and governance requirements.
  • Being the LMS subject matter expert/Super user in Rail – to provide guidance and advice to HR, Training and other stakeholders
  • Responsible for configuring the LMS to meet organisational requirements, using the system for online training needs, storing records and documenting learning evidence in the system and identifying compliance gaps
  • Administratively control the creation of new or revised content objects in the LMS to ensure reporting and searching functionality are not compromised
  • Providing support to stakeholders during the conduct of internal and external audits regarding corporate governance and compliance with management plans and contract requirements
  • Supporting the Technical Training Manager in the engagement of external training resources such as RTO’s and other specialist providers
  • Various activities associated with the procurement, payment and cost allocation of approved technical training service providers.
  • Coordinate/support the roll-out across Rail (RSS Business Unit) of  both Downer Group or Transport & Infrastructure Division professional or corporate governance/compliance training initiatives

About you

  • Strong working knowledge of LMS systems, configuration and reporting – a previous “super - user” of Tandem LMS or similar
  • Understanding of Rail industry operations and rolling stock (desirable)
  • Use of on-line training authoring tools and applications highly regarded
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong competence in the use of Microsoft Office Suite - (in particular Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook
