Detail information about job Recruitment & Contractor Administration Extraordinaire. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • If you love helping people find jobs but hate the recruitment industry...
  • If you want to be treated like an adult and make your mark...
  • If you want to be part of a team that truly supports each other...

Forget what you know about the recruitment industry, we intentionally and stubbornly challenge the status quo and pride ourselves on everything that makes us unique. We could bang on about all the things that make us “different” but then you will just be getting the same spiel you get from every other recruiter. So we will just lay it all out – you are going to need some serious skills to join this team.

  • Exceptional attention to detail – errors in your cover letter (required) or resume are an automatic fail.
  • Amazing interpersonal skills – and you can’t be afraid to pick up the phone.
  • The ability to work in an environment with more chatter than a high school sleepover.
  • A genuine desire to help people – never lose sight of why we are here: we want to do something special for candidates and clients… We might not be able to find a job for a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t help. Part of your role will be working out how.
  • High emotional intelligence and the flexibility to support a team who work in different ways; with the confidence to negotiate your workload if things get hectic.

Are you still with us? Great! If you aren’t, we totally get it – we aren’t for everyone… actually, let’s cover that part as well, with full disclosure in mind, here’s what we aren’t very good at:

  • Focusing. This is a role that sometimes feels like trying to put a jumper on an octopus! This can be frustrating.
  • Taking ourselves too seriously. Our office doesn’t look like the cast of Suits – we have a less-than corporate style. It means being comfortable, but still well put-together. (This goes for both the way we look, and the way we speak.) But we are never shabby or unprofessional… it’s about knowing where the line is...
  • Making a whole lot of sense sometimes; you will be working with at least three entrepreneurial minds, one that we call “Wikki”, one that sits on multiple not-for-profit boards plus an events business, and another couple of manic personalities who are bursting with energy and ideas. One minute you may find yourself talking about nothing for half an hour, the next you might find yourself in the midst of a big idea-planning session, and the very next, you might find yourself under some pressure to get something that is needed ‘now’.

The general gist of the job (but by no means the extent of it)

  • Candidate care and database maintenance
  • Creation of contracts and ‘temp packs’ and management of the temp and contractor process
  • Recruitment ‘Resourcer’ work: database searches, screening resumes and phone-screening applicants, candidate pooling
  • Recruitment admin (you know the drill: Formatting CVs, conducting references etc)
  • Greeting candidates and clients; making them feel welcome
  • General office administration like looking after stationery and other office necessities
  • Content curation and customer engagement of social media, and management of Direct Marketing

This is what we will be looking for in your CV and cover letter…

  • Previous experience in recruitment and/or mobilisation (internal or external) - Required
  • Fantastic MS Word skills – yes, we will be judging you on your resume
  • Great attention to detail… which is so important we mentioned it twice
  • An amazing phone manner, and some good written communication skills to back it up
  • The ability to use your initiative: solving problems and making decisions autonomously
  • A sense of urgency when it is needed and the ability to prioritise
  • An understanding of the importance of good records management

And what do you get out of this?

A place to grow your talents and career in the areas that you thrive. A place where your voice is heard, and you have a direct impact on the success of the business. A caring, genuine and (we think) pretty damn fun place to come to work every day, and knowing that what you are doing actually changes lives. Also:

  • The money is good (you will never be underpaid for what you do)
  • You get your Birthday off (though most people come in for the Birthday lunch instead)
  • You get control of the Sonos (unless you prove yourself unworthy… never mess with throwback Thursday and D’n’B Friday.)
  • Heaps of events like EOFY & Christmas Party, Melbourne Cup shenanigans (this is not a couple of cut sandwiches in the boardroom) and a lot of “just because” events to celebrate the ‘wins’

I’m intrigued! Where do I sign up?

Want to know more? Click 'Apply' to submit your application now! Please submit your resume and cover letter as MS Word documents (Tell us a bit about yourself! And it won’t hurt to showcase some of the attributes and skills mentioned above. We have to read a lot of applications, so please feel free to make things interesting and let your personality shine.)
