The Role

We are looking for Injury Management Advisor to join our friendly team.  Your role is integral to the effectiveness of team providing subject matter expertise on workplace injury management. You will work collaboratively and take a “hands on” approach to working with injured workers, medical providers, WH&S and Human Resources.

Duties include:

  • Managing the recovery and return to work of employees who have had a workplace injury.
  • Coordinating all activities with key stakeholders to ensure a timely and durable recovery and return to work for an individual.  
  • Participate in decision making around the strategic claims management activities.
  • Participate in the developed strategy as directed and provide feedback as required. 
  • Implement and maintain robust practices and guidelines to ensure they are current, comply with organisational/legal requirements
  • Work with the processes of the department to ensure that the highest standard of case management is being provided and the best outcomes are achieved for the worker and the organisation.  
  • Participate in the development of reports on the current status of Injury Management within The Salvation Army, work with the WHS and HR team to address areas of concern and trends that may become apparent.

What we are seeking from you? 

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Allied Health) and or demonstrated industry experience in the coordination of return to work services.
  • Return to Work Coordinator certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998 and sound understanding of rehabilitation case management principles.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • WHS – knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
