About the role

Auto & General are now looking for a talented individual who can help drive their ambitious growth plans. In this newly created role you will provide key support to the Director People and Culture and take on a key leadership role within this portfolio. You will drive critical programs of work across People and Culture and lead all HR Operations including recruitment, volume assessment, policy, projects, data and metrics and health and safety compliance. You will engage heavily with the broader HR function including the Business Partners to drive process efficiencies both internally within the P&C function and for the wider business.

Your team will cover all operational activities from recruitment and onboarding through to exit and will play a pivotal role in providing analysis and metrics to the People and Culture function to ensure all aspect of the employee lifecycle are optimised. This will also include health and safety activities.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking that candidate with strong leadership capability who is comfortable working with executives to drive the People and Culture strategy and who possesses the rare ability to be able to think and work strategically, but then step into the operational detail as required. In this pivotal role, you will live and breathe the ‘Auto and General Way’ through your demonstration of the values: Care & Passion, Ownership & Integrity, Vision & Creativity.

Degree qualified with deep experience as a HR leader, you will be able to engage at the most senior levels of the business to influence and drive outcomes. You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen and be able to navigate through a growing and evolving business, whilst maintaining resilience and a strong sense of purpose. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate business requirements into people priorities will ensure your success in this role. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary, including the ability to prepare and present Board presentations and papers.
