Due to strong growth and results, we are seeking a passionate and experienced EHS Manager to partner with our businesses across Australia. Reporting to the National Operation Manager, the Environmental Health & Safety Manager will work closely with the site leadership team, manufacturing managers, and production teams to lead, coach, and drive the safety culture across the site and to deliver a ‘Zero Harm’ mindset. The position is responsible for ensuring the implementation, maintenance, administering and directing all HSE activities on site are undertaken and in line with company policy, standards and statutory requirements.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leads the Allegion EHS function to ensure compliance, deliver goals and objectives and build organisational capability
  • Ensures effective incident management is underpinned by strong processes
  • Identify training needs and where required, organise and deliver training, provide on the job coaching to ensure all employees understand current policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on key health & safety performance indicators to measure effectiveness of plans
  • Implement procedures and manage issues relating to injury management, rehabilitation and workers compensation practises across Australia
  • Partner with HR on Health and Wellbeing strategies and program implementation across Australia

Skills, experience & attributes sought:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Environment, Health & Safety or similar discipline
  • Minimum 7-10 years previous generalist EHS experience including workers compensation and injury management, EHS compliance and legislation, training and development, EHS audits, and workplace investigations
  • Experience in driving Behavioural Based safety initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Manufacturing environment and promoting positive EHS behaviours
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to resolve conflict constructively
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation
