The Position:
You will be responsible to implement and maintain programs to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel within our Melbourne Parks and Gardens contract. This includes maintaining a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Management System to maintain third party certification of the HSEQ systems in line with contractual requirements.
In addition, you will provide on-site assistance to injured employees in all aspects of rehabilitation and returning to work for work related and non-work related conditions.
This is a permanent, part-time position working three days per week (an average of 22.8 hrs) based at our Fitzroy Gardens and Princess Park head offices.
About You:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment - an advantage
- Accreditation to conduct in-house drug and alcohol testing HLTPAT304D - Collect Pathology specimen other than blood - an advantage
- Significant practical experience in Safety, Environment and Wellbeing management within a multi-discipline environment
- A knowledge of or experience of open space facilities management in parks and gardens
- Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards 9001, 4801 and 14001
- Intellectual capacity and emotional intelligence to manage and lead investigations, consistent with the demands of the position
