Djerriwarrh Health Services has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Workplace Health and Safety professional to take on a challenging role as an Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator based at Bacchus Marsh & Melton Regional Hospital.

Ensuring the health and safety of our patients, visitors and staff is at the heart of everything we do. As part of this commitment all new employees must meet the immunisation requirement of their role prior to commencement.

The Role:

The purpose of this position is to provide sound WH&S advice and support to Employees, Managers and Directors.

There is a requirement for this position to demonstrate strengthened governance through a stronger focus on collaboration across the DjHS business units. There will be a responsibility for strategic accountability to drive the safety culture agenda for the organisation with encompasses Strategic Governance; Prevention & Risk Management This position requires the demonstration of a proactive approach.

To be considered for this position applicants must demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Manage the Organisations' WH&S & Wellbeing policy, procedure, education and reporting framework in accordance with industrial instruments and legislative requirements. Ensure WHS& & Wellbeing governance, regulatory and legislative compliance across the organisation.
• Ensure the structure for WH&S committees and Health & Safety Representation meets legislative requirements and provides appropriate governance to inform management decision making with respect to WH&S matters.
• Maintenance of WH&S policies and procedures in accordance with the Organisations Policy and Procedures Framework and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Reporting of relevant WH&S information to meet both internal and external requirements.
• Work with the relevant DjHS committees to ensure relevant OHS & Wellbeing interventions and information are incorporated into policies and procedures to meet National Standards requirements.
• Drive prevention and risk management solutions including management solutions associated with occupational violence & aggression; hazardous substances & dangerous goods; and manual handling.
• Ensure an ongoing strategy and program for the management of occupational violence and aggression including maintenance of an Occupational Violence and Aggression Reference Group and relevant education programs.
