About the Organisation

Sugar Research Australia (SRA) is an industry owned company and invests in and manages a portfolio of research, development and adoption (RD&A) programmes / projects that drive productivity, profitability and sustainability for the Australian sugarcane industry. About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager Operations, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development and delivery of the organisation’s HR program and day to day operations. Leading a small team of HR specialists, your role will be a unique blend of strategy and operations and will see you engage with the Executive leaders within the business, as a critical business partner.

Key deliverables for this role will include:

  • Provide advice and guidance to Executive Leaders around optimal capability / structures to support the strategic direction of the business;
  • Lead the HR activity associated with the transformational culture change strategies;
  • Provide supporting advice to the Board, subcommittee and Executive Leaders on contemporary Human Resource practice;
  • Develop and implement strategies associated with employee engagement and leadership development; and
  • Review, develop and implement new policies and procedures that further support cultural transformation and the commercial direction of the business.

Operationally, you will provide guidance and mentoring to the HR team and oversee the execution of all annual HR activities, employee relations matters and the development of analytical reports to support HR activity within the business.

About the Person

To be considered for this appointment you will possess significant HR Leadership experience. Experience working within a public company / commercial environment is key. Tertiary qualified in HR, Business, or a related discipline, you will have a track record of successfully working with Executive Leaders to develop and deliver a HR strategic plan, as well as drive cultural change.

Your natural ability to build strong relationships, excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work autonomously to deliver outcomes, will ensure you build credibility quickly. You will elevate the HR function through your technical ability combined with your strategic perspective and leadership capability.
