The opportunity
The Learning & Development Associate, Operations & Safety Programs provides strategic leadership and guidance to enable current and future workforce needs to be supported by developing and continuously improving workforce capability programs that lift the capability of the workforce within the nominated disciplines. Working collaboratively across the Cluster, the positon defines program scope and manages the end to end design, delivery and ongoing maintenance of programs to meet the Agencies and TfNSW Divisions’ desired outcomes.

 

The position focuses on programs in the areas of Operations and Safety disciplines across the Transport Cluster. This role reports to Associate Director, Operations & Safety Programs

Some of the key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the development and strategic implementation of operations and safety programs and requirements which in turn enable Division and Agency outcomes and facilitate design and delivery as needed.
  • Drive processes and practices that enable understanding and prioritising of critical technical capabilities required for Agencies, Divisions and industry partners to deliver services to customers.
  • Partner to deliver holistic capability and competency development programs in the nominated disciplines across the Transport Cluster.
  • Define robust mechanisms and conduct regular reviews to ensure ‘catalogue’ programs in the nominated disciplines adhere to regulatory requirements of the Cluster (both transport for NSW and Industry accreditation requirements).
  • Lead the continuous improvement of programs across the Cluster including awareness of best practice to ensure that the Cluster can take advantage of developments in the particular fields of expertise.
  • Through partnering, function cohesively as part of the broader team and effectively collaborate with other business units to ensure an outcome and values led approach.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets and risk management plans consistent with the Transport Charter, the Divisional Plan and the Learning & Development Strategic Priorities.

Learning and Development is responsible for building the capability strategy and needs of the Transport cluster. They:

  • Lead the partnering with industry and education sectors to meet the emerging capability and competency needs of Future Transport
  • Lead the design and delivery of learning programs to meet the current and future needs of the cluster

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing education and training program requirements of the nominated disciplines in a complex environment and strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the delivery of end to end program management in one or more of the nominated discipline areas.
