Human Resources and Industrial Relations Advisor

CCIQ has a permanent opportunity within the Employer Assistance Team for an experienced Human Resources and Industrial Relations Advisor based in our Spring Hill Office.  The Employer Assistance team provides CCIQ members with vital HR/IR support through our consultancy business, over the phone helpline, and through education and training.

Whilst a solid HR/IR technical background is required, CCIQ places a strong emphasis on workplace culture that is collaborative, supportive, and innovative.

About You

You have the ability to learn quickly, will thrive in a team environment and are self-motivated with a 'can do' attitude. You will also be a confident public speaker and enjoy engaging clients face-to-face. This role requires you to have a practical understanding of the Australian industrial relations framework and knowledge of best-practice principles gained through relevant experience.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous exposure in interpretation and application of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, the National Employment Standards and other provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009.
  • Sound understanding of the Queensland Workers Compensation system
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in a human resource and or industrial relations.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an IR or HR Advisor.
  • Technical knowledge on performance management, redundancy, termination of employment, worker’s compensation, disciplinary processes, long service leave and managing ill and injured employees.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Key responsibilities are focused around the provision of over the phone advice to CCIQ members specifically relating to the interpretation and application of Modern Awards, the National Employment Standards and other provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009, as well as the provision of advice on workers compensation-related matters.

Training and ongoing support will be provided to the successful candidate.
